By the banks of the Jordan River
Stood a man to baptize all
Came a youngster to the old man
To baptize him was his call

The old man looked upon the youngster
Said: "It's your turn to baptize me"
The youngster said: "No, you baptize me
I need baptism to break free"

           And a dove flew from the skies
           When the Saviour was bapzized

By the banks of the Jordan River
It's a story they remain
But they don't live with His wisdom
They live with war, hurt and pain

Jesus told us all to be Lovers
Not haters, warriors or such
That important part of His wisdom
Gave the world a special touch
