Die Mavericks sind eine der erfolgreichsten Country-
Bands der 1990er und dies, obschon ihre Musik stark
traditionelle Anteile hat. Die meisten ihrer Hits sind
sehr rhytmisch und erinnern an die Musik Mexikos
oder den Bakersfield-Sound der 1960er. "All You
Ever Do Is Bring Me Down" ist einer ihrer bekann-
testen Hits. Geschrieben haben ihn der Exil-Kuba-
ner Raul Malo, seines Zeichens Frontmann und Lead-
sänger der Mavericks, und der Produzent und Gitar-
rist Al Anderson, der auch Dwight Yoakam produ-
ziert und in dessen Band spielt.
