Huddie Leadbetter, genannt "Leadbelly", ein
Slang- Ausdruck für einen Spiessbürger, war
in den 30er und 40er Jahren ein sehr bekannter
Blues- und Folkmusiker. Eines seiner bekann-
testen Werke ist "Midnight Special", ein Song
über einen Mitternachtszug, der später von
Creedence Clearwater Revival sehr erfolgreich
gecovert wurde. Leadbelly war ein alles andere
als friedlicher Typ, der wegen Mord im Gefängnis
sass, bevor er entlassen und als Musiker bekannt
wurde. Ich habe, zur Melodie von "Midnight
Special" einen Songtext über diesen Mann
geschrieben:
